MHS Forensic Team Earns Another 1st Place Sweepstakes Trophy

The MHS Forensic Team travelled to Ft. Smith Southside High School and returned with another 1st place sweepstakes trophy. The team earned 37 Excellent / Superior ratings in 47 events, 4th place in Readers Theatre, advanced 12 events to semi-finals, and advanced 4 events to finals.
Finalists were as follows:
Zach Cason & Savannah Reynolds – Duet Acting (4th)
Jacob Chisom – Extemporaneous Speaking (4th)
Hannah James – Humorous / Dramatic Interpretation (4th)
Becca Stephenson – Prose Interpretation (4th)
Semi-finalists were as follows:
Original Oratory – N’Shyka Shelton
Original Oratory – Hannah James
Extemporaneous Speaking – Elizabeth Wilson
Prose Interpretation – Jessica Craven
Storytelling – Becca Stephenson
Storytelling – Alex Borchardt
Improvised Duet Acting – Frederica Davidson & Zataya Whitehead
This week the team will compete in their final qualifying tournament for the State Tournament of Champions. If you are in the Searcy area or just needing something to do, drop by Searcy High School and watch some amazing performances on Friday and/or Saturday.
