2 City Council Members Announced for Advertising & Promotion Committee

Aldermen Joe Meeks and Al Peer were annoumced, Monday, as the two city council members that will serve on the Advertising and Promotion Commission.
The A&P commission oversees the 3% Hotel Tax, as it relates to the proposed conventin center, which will be located at UAM, if it comes to fruition.
The remaing position on the board, due to Kim Patel’s term expiring last may, remains to be filled. That spot must be filled by someone in the tourism field.

Why do just the hotels pay tax, and not restaurant’s not pay also.
A & P taxes are most times paid by both.
