According to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers, on Wednesday, Monticello Officers successfully ended a police pursuit that resulted in the arrest of a Crossett man identified as Kahliff Daniels, age 26, for multiple felony drug and gun charges. (more…)

Shady Grove’s Disaster Relief team will be deploying to the Truman/Monette area  to aid and assist those in need. We will be delivering supplies to them Thursday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. Donations are welcome to help in our mission.

“We were made aware earlier this morning and are working with the school administration and staff to investigate this incident.

The school administration has made the decision to remain in session and we support their assessment of the facts and this decision.
MPD has multiple officers in various capacities on and around school facilities and will continue to work with MSD staff to investigate and monitor this situation until it is resolved”. MOD Chief Jason Akers.

Drew Central School District administration was made aware of the threat against the Monticello Middle School early this morning. Due to the close proximity of the school districts, we are taking safety precautions at the Pirate Nation as well today.
