A late model Ford Mustang severed a light pole on Bolling St. earlier this morning.  Entergy is working to replace the pole, and restore power to Monticello.

Monticello Police are working the accident, which sent the driver to the local hospital, and have Bolling St. closed from Main St. to Borchardt St. so crews can repair the light pole.

Electricicity to the main portion of Monticello is down at this point.

This accident made me count all of my blessings, and don’t take anything and anyone in life for granted. Some said, “I’m lucky”. But the good Lord was with me and my two children the whole time. We survived what should’ve been a fatal accident without any scrapes and or bruises. Thank you Lord!!! Husband speaking,” we lost a car that can be replaced, but saved the lives of 3 of the most important people in my life, thank you god.”
