Weather & Roads Update – 6 am update
January 16th, 2013 by Joe Burgess
Here’s a summary of Drew County’s weather and road conditions.
There were no noticeable weather changes overnight, except for the below-freezing temperatures.
MLive spoke to Drew County Judge Robert Akin, late yesterday evening. He reported that county roads were passable, with caution, at that time, as long more didn’t fall overnight.
NOAA – NWS forecast a 20% chance of freezing drizzle before 9am, then a slight chance of rain between 9am and 3pm. A high near 44 will certainly help the road conditions, but that is later today.
At 5:30, Weather Channel radar shows a small area of frozen rain heading our way, probably by 7 am.
At 5:20, KATV said that Ashley and Chicot Winter advisory, may have a little more effect on Drew County.
At 5:55, no school closings have been announced.
Please drive slow and use caution today.
