Watch D.O.G.S.

The Monticello Intermediate School Watch DOG pizza night was a huge success. Over two hundred Dads or father figures attended the kick-off event on October 16 with their child. After the pizza was served, a video was presented which described the history and purpose of Watch DOGS, then Mr. Chris Danenhauer, a representative from Watch DOGS gave a short informative speech about what it means to be a Watch DOG.
Dads were then asked to donate one day a year to the school to be a Watch Dog and were given the opportunity to sign up on a year-long calendar in the hallway. The response was incredible, with many days of the year signed up to be covered by a Watch DOG. However, any Dads or father figures who still want to sign up are encouraged to do so, because it’s always great to have more than one Dad in the building on the same day. Any interested Dads may call the school office at 367-4030 to sign up or get more information.Mrs. Belinda Akin, Principal, and Mrs. Mary Donaldson, Assistant Principal, wish to thank Mazzio’s Pizza; Union Bank; Pepsi; the Top Dog Team of Jeff Noble, Dave Dickson, Lee Busby, Alan Womack, Carlos Garcia, and Steve Pigott, and Tracy Reed; Americorps student-workers, and the teachers and staff of MIS for helping to make the WatchDOG pizza night such a successful event.
