The group of more than 20 Monticellonians will begin their meetings with the Arkansas delegation today in Washington. Most of the group arrived Monday and enjoyed a dinner out with Representative Mike Ross. They have an ambitious schedule today:
- 9:30 a.m. - Meeting with Congressman Marion Barry
- 10:30 a.m. - Meeting with Congressman Mike Ross
- 11:15 a.m. - Meeting with Congressman Vic Snyder
- 12:00 p.m. - Meeting with Congressman John Boozman
- 3:00 p.m. - Meeting with Senator Blanche Lincoln
Some of the Monticello contingent arrived in Washington last Saturday and have been able to tour parts of the historic capitol city. On Monday, Dr. Jack and Judy Lassiter, Dave and Memorie Dickson, and Jeff and Carolyn Noble participated in a tour of the U.S. Capitol led by Paige Burkham, a staff assistant for Rep. Ross. Burkham is from Hope, Arkansas and is a graduate of Southern Arkansas University.
