Mr. Jim at Dad’s Place referred me here. Glad to find a source of online news for SEARK. WalMart phasing out layaway is just sad. I realize they’re trying to get away from their rural roots but c’mon, not everyone can qualify for or even wants huge credit card bills. Look how many people take advantage of WalMart’s blitz and put that stuff on layaway for Christmas. The ones that don’t have credit are to do what? What about the folks that live paycheck to paycheck (especially around here)? Are they going to be able to provide more expensive items for their families? I’m not referring just to Christmas, but look how many families also put clothes on layaway for back to school.
