Recently, there was an I-69 public meeting held in Monticello. Although no major updates were announced, it was very educational and gave a full history of the project. Basically, the next step is to gain funding for the Great River Bridge over the Mississippi River near Desha County.

Mainline Health Services recently offered a proposal to the Drew Central school board, about providing a school based health clinic at Drew Central’s campus.
Governor Asa Hutchinson was in Monticello, Tuesday, for the launch of the ACT Work-Ready Communities Initiative, at the University of Arkansas at Monticello Gibson Center.
With Drew County being a part of the Southeast Arkansas ACT Work Ready Community, “it will assure businesses that the workforce skills they need are right here in SE Arkansas.” -Gov. Hutchinson.
C-Tan Investments, the owners of Park Ridge Apartments on Market Street, is suing Drew County over the amount of property tax they are required to pay.
