Once again the Monticello Friends of the Library are offering boxes of homemade chocolate candies for Valentine’s Day. For a donation of only $5.00 you will receive a ticket which may be turned into the Monticello Branch Library on Thursday, February 14 for a box of delicious homemade chocolate candy. This fundraiser, called the Chocolate Extravaganza, is co-chaired by Shirley Kizer and Patricia Kulbeth. Funds raised will be used by the Friends of the Monticello Library to provide free internet access at the 11 public computers, will help with the Library’s Summer Reading Program, and will pay for fees necessary to put a sales tax initiative on the November ballot to build a new Library facility to be located at the north end of Main Street. Candy tickets will go on sale beginning Friday, February 1. They may be obtained from any Friends of the Library Board member, Virginia Grizzell, Delbert Farrar, Larry Fuller, or at the Monticello Branch Library. A limited number of tickets are available, so be sure to buy yours today.
