US Marshals & MPD Arrest Local Man on Mississippi Gun Possession Charges

Wednesday morning, Monticello Police were contacted by US Marshals to assist in the capture of a felon wanted out of Mississippi.
James Ray Clary, age 55 of Monticello, was taken into custody and is currently being a held in the County Detention Facility.
Clary, who is reportedly listed as a sex offender out of Oregon, was arrested last year in Mississippi on 2 counts of being a felon in possession of firearms.
There is also a possibility that Clary could be charged with failure to register as a sex offender in Drew County.
A hearing for Clary is expected today, prior to him being extradited back to Mississippi to face charges there.
