Around 1:20, Jonathan Woods’ attorney told the jurors that Woods knows that he shot his girlfriend; not by recollection, but because no one else could have done it. Mr. Depper continued, explaining that the couple was close enough that they had been doing drugs, together, for several days.

At 1:30, the store owner took the stand, to describe the photos and videos, taken from inside the store, showing him attacking Ms. Poole.

At 1:45, the police dispatcher took the stand. She verified the transcripts of the 3 911 calls (as they were played for the jury), reporting the events that night, including screams; the caller’s description, as he forced her into the car, and pulled out the gun; and another callers report of hearing a gunshot, that sounded like a gunshot over the phone, to the dispatcher.
