At the MEDC meeting last week, Drew Memorial Hospital administrator Richard Goddard told the group about several items of interest at the hospital.

The hospital’s new Chief Financial Officer, Shannon Clark is now on staff, and settling in.

Goddard announced that Monticello physician, Dr. Lisa Holaday, M.D., will be joining the staff of Drew Professional Services, beginning Jan. 15th, specializing in internal medicine.

Drew Professional Services is located at 750 H.L. Ross Drive, directly behind the hospital.

Dr. Sidney Collins, a Board Certified Surgeon, is likely to begin practicing here sometime around March of this year.

Drew Memorial is determining what purpose would best suit the needs of the community, as far as a new use for the portion of the building that was previously the home health department.

There is a chance that this space could be used for extensive psychiatric outpatient services

Mr. Goddard discussed the $421,506 that has been designated by the recent signing of the omnibus bill by President Bush.

Also announced was that Dr. Michael Fakouri will be joining the staff in the middle of this year.

In closing, Goddard to the MEDC that they will begin to see numerous things start to happen, as the hospital begins to seek appropriate funding solutions, in order to address needs.
