In a recent MEDC meeting, UAM Chancellor Jack Lassiter told the group that “camping season” was beginning at UAM, with the first of three summer band camps starting.

UAM is beginning it’s “100 Year Celebration”.  The University began in 1909, the same year that Arkansas Tech, ASU, and SAU began operation.

The slogan for the “100 Year Celebration” will be “Celebrating a Century of Opportunity”

Ongoing construction is progressing. Wells and Sorrells Halls will be re-opening in late fall.

Dr. Lassiter announced to the group that the University will not be reopening the old UAM pool.   The latest estimate to repair and reopen the facility was around $585,000.
