The Little Rock Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, in partnership with the University of Arkansas at Monticello Center for Economic Education, will conduct an economic education workshop, “Arkansas and the Great Depression”, on Saturday, October 27 in the Taylor Library and Technology Center on the UAM campus.

The workshop is designed for teachers in grades 5-12 and will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The workshop will feature new economic education materials on the Great Depression developed by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, information on Arkansas in the Great Depression, a presentation on Arkansas entrepreneurs, and a demonstration of a National Council on Economic Education U.S. History lesson on the Depression.

Presenters will include Billy Britt, economic education specialist of the Little Rock Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank, Dr. Marsha Clayton, director of the Center for Economic Education at UAM, Zoe Rossi, investment education specialist with the Arkansas Securities Department, and Geanie Channell, program coordinator of EconomicsArkansas.

Six hours of professional staff development credit is available for this workshop.  Participants will also have an opportunity to hear information on the Southeast Arkansas Advisory Council for the Little Rock Branch of the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank.
