Head softball coach at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Alvy Early, has announced the dates of the program’s annual summer camp for July 8-10.
The camp marks the 13th annual softball camp for UAM, which features instruction for young women ages 6-18 at Blossom Field on the UAM campus.

The 2008 camp will feature three sessions. The position and fundamental session will familiarize the campers with the basic fundamentals needed to play all on-field positions.

The hitting session will provide every camper with extensive instruction in the mechanics and techniques of hitting.

The pitching/catching session will give catchers a working knowledge of their position through drills and personal instruction, while the pitchers will work on the absolutes of pitching fundamentals as well as actual pitching techniques, helping to make the camper a well-rounded performer on the field.

The 2008 camp will start Tuesday, July 8 with registration from 8-9 a.m. The sessions will start at 9 a.m. each day and last until 3 p.m. with a lunch break from 12-1 p.m.

Alvy Early (UAM), Kent Early (Bentonville), Nikki Bethurum (UAM Assistant), Chad Hutson (Woodlawn), Eric Ryan (Benton) and several members of the Cotton Blossom squad will provide instruction at the camp.

The registration fee is $75 per camper. To find a registration form, visit uamsports.com and click “Athletic Camps” in the left-hand column.
