Twenty-three psychology students at the University of Arkansas at Monticello presented original research at the recent Arkansas Symposium for Psychology Students (ASPS) hosted by Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
The student presentations included five posters and seven papers. The presentations represented the students’ final projects as part of the Research and Methods class taught by Dr. Rick Clubb, professor of psychology. The project called for each student to design, conduct and present the findings of original experimental research.
This year’s two-day ASPS meeting drew 120 participants from eight colleges and universities. UAM had the largest number of students attending the symposium and the second largest number of presentations.
“ASPS gives our students a great opportunity to meet students and faculty from other schools and to appreciate their own level of success in academic research,” said Clubb. “Faculty from around the state were highly complimentary of our presentations.”
