The University of Arkansas at Monticello will host a junior high band camp June 11-15, according to Gary Meggs, director of bands and camp director.
            The camp will be divided into four bands. UAM graduate Theodus Luckett, band director of Forrest Middle School and assistant director of Longview (Tex.) High School, will direct the first honor band. Other guest directors include Valarie Tobin of Hot Springs, Dick Eckstein of Mt.
Pleasant, Tex., and Tonya Eckstein of Mount Vernon, Tex.
             Each of the four bands will perform on Friday, June 13 beginning at 1 p.m. in the UAM Fine Arts Center. Meggs expects over 300 area band students to participate in this year’s camp. The concerts are free and open to the public.
