More than 200 students from area high school band programs are attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello Senior Band Camp this week, according to Gary Meggs, director of bands.

The camp will conclude Friday with concerts by the first and second concert bands and the jazz band. The concerts begin at 12 noon and are free and open to the public.

David Stuart, director of bands at Magnolia High School, will serve as director of the first honor band. Stuart is currently in his 25th year of teaching instrumental music education and his ninth year as director of bands for the Magnolia School District.

Hamburg High School Band Director Marty Martin will conduct the second honor band while T.J. Files, director of bands at Monticello High School, will conduct the jazz band.
