UAM Game on TV–Enrollment Up–Student Ages 14-79
Published by Joe Burgess October 4th, 2008 in Site.UAM Chancellor, Dr. Jack Lassiter, present at last week’s MEDC meeting, told the group that last week’s “Parent’s day” was the most successful event of it’s kind in the 20 year history of Parent’s Days at UAM.
Dr. Lassiter also pointed out that the Boll Weevil game on October 9 will be televised, and will be held on a Thursday. Everyone is encouraged to come out and support the Boll Weevils.
Other notes from his presentation include that UAM’s student population ranges in age from 14 through 79, with 27% of current students being over the age of 25.
UAM’s preliminary enrollment is continuing to increase. This year there are 3308 students, up from 3187 last year, and 2875 in 2003.
89% of the students are Arkansas residents, leaving 11% for out of state or international students. 22% of the Arkansas students listed Drew County as home. 60% of all UAM students are female, and 40% are male
