UAM falls hard on homecoming

Although the Weevils scored first with just over two minutes of game time off the clock in a 21-yard pass to Jamie Dunn, the W. Alabama Tigers answered that score a minute later to tie the game at 7-7. The Tigers controlled the Weevils’ homecoming game from that point forward, leading 30-7 which included 3 field goals by W. Alabama kicker Mitch Warfield.

A fumble recovery in the fourth quarter by UAM senior Ricky Miller led to a touchdown for the Weevils as he carried to the W. Alabama 45 yard-line and then pitched the ball to senior Brandon Mayweather who outran the pursuing Tigers to the goal line. The score was the last of the game.
