Two Injured in Wreck on HWY 35 West

Two Monticello residents were injured in this single vehicle accident on HWY 35 West, near the Drew-Cleveland County line.

The Stratus was traveling east, left the roadway, and continued down the ditch, until it hit a C&L power pole.  The pole broke, with the top falling over, and causing a grass fire, as shown in the photo.  A “live” power wire also fell across the rear of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle and a passenger were transfered to Drew Memorial Hospital by SEEMS.  Lock & Keys towed the vehicle.

Rock Springs Fire Dept. responded for the fire.

State Trooper Clayton Moss worked the accident, assisted by Drew County deputies.
