Two Churches Unite as One Church Family

On Sunday September 7th, Second Baptist Church and Serenity Church merged together as one church body. The two church families met together and separately over the past month and voted to join together to serve together. Pastor Jimmy Albrecht said, “The joining of these two churches has been a blessing for all involved.” The two churches will meet in the Second Baptist Church facility on Old Warren Road. The two staffs will also merge with Bro. Jimmy Albrecht serving as Senior Pastor, Bro. Ray Hearron serving as Youth Pastor, Shelly Mullins serving as Preschool and Children’s Minister, Tammy Albrecht serving as Interim Music Minister, and Stacey Owen serving as Church Secretary.

“We are excited about what this church will be able to contribute to this community and what we will be able to offer to the youth of this area. I am excited about moving forward with this youth program and encourage everyone to be involved!” says Bro. Hearron. The youth group meets in the building located behind the main church building.

The two churches joined together for Vacation Bible School this summer and were pleased with how the community responded to churches joining together to reach children. The churches felt the union would be more beneficial in serving the community.

The Second Baptist Church Family would like to invite you to come worship with us. Services are held on Sundays at 10:55 am and 6:00 pm with Sunday School beginning at 10:45 am. Children and youth’s activities, Adult Bible Study, and prayer meetings are held on Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm following supper at 5:00 pm. Come celebrate with us as we begin a new chapter in our church’s history.
