October 18th, 2012 by Joe Burgess
The driver of this Dodge 4 door pick-up lost control of his southbound vehicle, on HWY 425 North near the HWY 35 bypass around 11 pm Friday night, causing the vehicle to spin, before crossing the roadway, and crashing into a camper trailer in a nearby yard.
Drew County deputies and Monticello Police resonded to the scene, to check for victims, but not in time to find the driver, who fled the scene on foot.
The Dodge struck the 42 foot Premier camper hard enough to knock it off of it’s blocks, causing it to land on a Centerpoint Energy gas meter, that was surrounded by a large pipe enclosure.
Monticello Firefighters responded, due to the gas leak, and Centerpoint was notified. Dan’s Towing was called to remove the Dodge from the newly widened camper door.

The camper trailer was for sale. I’ll give them $100.00 for it. Driver was likely DWI. THankfully no one was hurt.
Dang and that was a nice camper too! Sucker oughta have to pay for it after running off and filing that false police report.
That was one way for Jeremy to get out of that DWI/DUI! Run run run. I hope he gets in even more trouble and has to pay these people a very large pretty penny.
@ AshleyThat’s hateful! I don’t even know this guy but I know this, you shouldn’t find happiness in other people’s misery. Wishing bad things for people may bring bad things to you.
@ Bertha Mae-Although you don’t know this “Boy”, maybe Ashley does and knows the type he is and all the no good he has done and will continue doing if they don’t get him off the road before he kills someone due to his drinking.
@ Bertha Mae…No sugar, that’s just being TRUTHFUL.
Wow, I hope he has to pay for whatever they were trying to sell that camper for,.. it’s not their fault this happened
