Traffic problems continue in front of schools
Published by Jeff November 16th, 2006 in News, Schools.
At approximately 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, an accident occurred in front of Monticello Elementary School. Parents have voiced concerns all year about the practice of cars parking on the side of the road before picking up children at the schools. Backups on the shoulder take place on both sides of the road in front of MES, and congestion is reported to be similar in front of Monticello Intermediate School as well.
Wednesday’s accident took place as the driver of the gray pickup attempted to turn but could not see clearly due to vehicles parked along the shoulder of both sides of the road. It was hit by a green pickup that ended in the grassy area in front of the school.
