The Emergency that Wasn’t

November 4th, 2009 by Joe Burgess

018Around 4 o’clock Monday afternoon, a call came into MPD dispatch, reporting a school bus accident, with power lines down.

Monticello Police and Fire Dept. responded to the scene, but quickly found that a low hanging electrical line across East Oakland Street, near Gabbert and Rose Streets, had been snapped by a school bus.

E. Oakland St. was closed to traffice for around 30 minutes, in order for Entergy to repair the power line.
