Stephanie Hill has announced her candidacy for Monticello City Council Alderman in Ward 3, Position 1, in the upcoming 2008 Democratic Primary Election that will be held on May 20th. 

Stephanie, a native of South Arkansas, graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and has made Monticello her hometown for the past 18 years. 

Stephanie has worked for the Arkansas Department of Human Services in Drew County for 9 years.  She is currently a Family Service Worker Specialist and an Interstate Compact Liaison for foster children of nine counties.  Stephanie is the single mother of two children, Zach and Maggie, both whom attend the Monticello School System.

Stephanie has been very involved with several different youth organizations of Monticello.  She has served on the Monticello Youth Soccer Association Board for 5 years, and is currently serving her second consecutive year as President. Stephanie also served as Secretary for the Drew County Cal Ripken Baseball League for two years. 

“If elected, I will help move Monticello into the future. It’s time for changes and new influences to be brought to the city council. I look forward to seeking new opportunities to improve our community. It would be my pleasure to be able to serve the citizens of my ward and the citizens of Monticello to make Monticello a better community.”  “I seek your support in this effort.”
