State Police Issue Statement about Missing Woman’s RecoveryApril 15th, 2013 by Joe Burgess
The body of a Warren woman who disappeared nine days ago was found Sunday, in a grave near the home of a Monticello man known to be an acquaintance of the missing woman.
Tangela Walton, 36, was reported missing by her family on April 5th after failing to return home.
Warren Police subsequently asked Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division to assist in investigating the disappearance.
Earlier today a suspect in the death of Walton lead authorities to the grave where her body was uncovered and later transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory. The lab will conduct an autopsy of the body to determine manner and cause of the death.
The suspect is being held tonight in a local jail pending a first appearance hearing and the filing of formal charges later tomorrow.
