The Southeast Arkansas Cornerstone Coalition held their monthly meeting in Dumas Wednesday, July 9th at the Dumas Community Center. I attended this meeting with Mayor Joe Rogers. This building along with a number of other buildings in this area suffered substantial damage from the tornado that hit Dumas. The building has been repaired and the business and industry in that area has apparently recovered. There are few visible signs of damage. Kenny Gober reported on the Yellow Bend Port. Water flows on the river have subsided enough for loading barges to resume. Yellow Bend is handling agricultural products at this time and they are very busy. High water and rapid flows had stopped their operation. There was nothing new to report on progress of moving the Snow Lake rail to serve Yellow Bend.
