SouthArk Slugfest Brings Baseball Action to Monticello – Billies Place 3rd

The Monticello Billies hosted the annual SouthArk Slugfest, this weekend, featuring eight area high school baseball teams.
The 2 day, 14 game tournament included Monticello, Hamburg, Crossett, Camden (Fairview), Camden-Harmony Grove, Stuttgart, Dewitt and Smackover.
Camden Fairview scored 6 in the 1st inning to lead them to a 15-3 victory over Dewitt, in the final game. Gamden’s 11th and 12th runs were scored on the same play in the 4th inning (shown above). Dewitt battled until the end, scoring their 3 runs in the final inning, at MHS Field.
Monticello defeated Stuttgart 9-2, after 5 innings, to win the consolation game, at Burlington Field.
