Small Gator Found on E. McCLoy St.

October 2nd, 2009 by

005010Shortly after Thursday night’s thunderstorn, a small alligator was seen crossing East McCloy Street by Drew County Deputy Steven Mitchell, near the city warehouse around midnight.

The alligator, estimated to measure around 2 1/2 foot long, was detained by city employee Charlie Hammock, with local law authorities present, and turned over to the Arkansas Game & Fish Commision.

This gator was seen in the ditch starting of this week by SEARK employees. Glad it has been caught and taken care of !!

  2. Debbie says:

I’m sorry, but I must pose the question: Why did the gator cross the road?

you know when the city called last night and told charlie they needed him to come put roadblock sighns out due to power outage and electric wires down, i told him to be carefull not to get electriquted, i never thought to tell him watch for gators….my bad! but it will make for a nice christmas card this year. and for once charlie was right, i ask him why he was going through all the trouble to put his teeth back in to just put up road sighns he just said well when your working in the public you need to look decent at all times and you never know what you may end up doing. and he was right, if that gator would have bit him at least he could have bit back. I love you gater boy!

  6. Charlie says:
