Shady Grove MBC To Serve As Relay Center For Operation Christmas Child, November 13th-20th

November 11th, 2017 by

ShoeBoxLogoA small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world in Jesus’ Name through the power of a simple gift with Operation Christmas Child.

How To Pack A Shoe Box
1. Use an empty shoe box (standard size, please) or a small plastic container. You can wrap the box (lid separately), but wrapping is not required. Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift.

2. BOY OR GIRL?
Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Pick up a brochure  and suggested packing list from us!  Mark the correct age category on the label, and tape the label to the top of your box.

3. FILL WITH GIFTS
Fill the box with a variety of gifts that will bring delight to a child. Use the gift ideas provided on the bottom of this page. Please include at least one item a child can immediately embrace such as a stuffed toy, doll, ball or toy truck.

4. INCLUDE YOUR DONATION
Please donate $9 or more for each shoebox you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. You can give online by using our “Follow Your Box Donation” option, or you can write a check to Samaritan’s Purse (note “OCC” on memo line) and place it in an envelope on top of the gift items inside your box. If you or your family are preparing more than one shoebox, please make one combined donation.

5. DROP OFF
Place two rubber bands around each closed shoe box and drop off  at  Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church during National Collection Week: November 13-20. Visit our webiste at shadygbc.com for operating hours during collection week.

BUILD -A -BOX
We know life can get pretty busy. But if you simply don’t have time to shop and pack a shoe box yourself, you can still help change a child’s life through Operation Christmas Child. We’ve created a process where you can build a box for a boy or girl online. You can customize your shoe box gift by selecting gifts from our list of items and adding a personal letter and photo. Your $25 donation will be used to build and send a box, share the love of Jesus Christ, and bless the children around the world through Operation Christmas Child. Visit their website at  www.samaritanspurse.org/ buildabox/
