The SEARK Reading Council held its Literacy Banquet at Country Village Steak House April 21.  The purpose of the banquet is to celebrate literacy in Southeast Arkansas by recognizing award winners and officers.

This is the first year the council is presenting a Young Author’s Award.  Winners of the award are (L to R) Sarah McManus, First Place, Drew Central, Sheila Gardner, Committee Chair, and Jamie Wall, Second Place Winner, Hermitage Elementary.
