Shortly after midnight, Saturday night, Monticello police responded to a call on Dillard Street, leading to the arrest of a Little Rock man for shooting of a Monticello man.

Reports indicate that Sam Durden, age 46, of Monticello/Wilmar was shot in the arm with a small caliber handgun, on/near South Dillard St., south of Jackson St. He sustained non-life threatening injuries, and was taken to Drew Memorial Hospital, by SEEMS, before being transported north.

Randy Block, age 28, of Little Rock, was arrested, on Jackson Street, shortly after the shooting by Monticello Police, and is being held in the Drew County detention facility, facing the probable charge of first degree battery.
