A Drew County jury heard the case Tuesday of Leon Hardin, who had been convicted of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and sentenced to serve 80 years for his crime earlier, and pronounced a sentence of 55 years to him in court on Tueday.

Hardin had earlier been represented by Attorney Jack Kearney, who’s errors caused the case to qualify for a “rule 37″ for inadequate coucil, which was granted by Judge Gibson.  The judge allowed re-hearing of the sentencing portion only, not the entire trial.

DTF agents arrested Hardin in 2005, with a half a kilo of powder cocaine.

DTF agent, Jason Akers testified, as did former State Trooper Todd Daley.

The jury deliberated for approximately an hour, and came back with a sentence of 55 years.

Hardin was represented by Dana Reese, of Little Rock, Tuesday.
