Monticello Intermediate School, Director Haley Greet

Southeast Arkansas Festival Chorus performed Saturday, March 6, at the Drew Central Earl Willis Auditorium. Participating schools were Crossett Middle School, Drew Central Middle School, Jimmy Brown Elementary in Star City, McGehee Elementary, Monticello Intermediate, Reed Elementary in Dumas, Rison Elementary, and Warren Elementary, with 88 students in all from grades 4-6.

Students rehearsed throughout the day and enjoyed a performance by the UAM Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Kent Skinner. “The performance went very well and plans are being made to have the chorus again next year,” said Janine Eubanks.

Selections directed by Haley Greer of MIS were “Little David, Play on Your Harp” (spiritual), “Dona Nobis Pacem” (Latin canon), “Skip to My Lou” and “Sandy Land” (partner song), “Shenandoah,” “Let Music Surround You” (a round), and “The Happy Wanderer.”
