Update – Parkway Bank to be Purchased by Citizens Bank of Batesville

According to Arkansas Business, Parkway Bank, with 2 branches in Monticello, is being purchased by citizens bank, of Batesville.
The deal should be completed by end of the year.
Citizens Bank, with assets of $575 million, has 12 full-service branches in Batesville, Cave City, Fayetteville, Hot Springs, Imboden, Mountain View and Pleasant Plains.
Parkway Bank has $135 million in assets and four full-service locations in Rogers, Crossett, Monticello and Portland.
Monticello’s Chris Lampkin told MLive, “We are pleased to announce the planned merger of Parkway Bank into Citizens Bank of Batesville, subject to regulatory approvals. The values of both organizations are similar and will provide substantial resources in offering a wide array of banking products and services, increased lending limits, and an expanded branch network with offices across Arkansas. We are excited about the opportunities in Southeast Arkansas which includes Monticello, Portland and Crossett and look forward to expanding our relationship base in those communities which we serve. There are no immediate changes to customers in using their online banking, debit cards, checks and other services.
