Log Truck Rollover at 425/35

Around 12:30, Thursday afternoon, this log truck was attempting to turn west, onto Highway 35, off of Highway 425, north of Monticello, when it overturned, blocking traffic until the load and wreck was cleared.
Drew County deputies, OEM, and others responded.
No injuries were reported.

USDA Announces Signup for New Rice Production Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced that the Farm Service Agency (FSA) will begin sending prefilled applications to rice producers the week of May 8 for the new Rice Production Program (RPP), which will provide up to $250 million in assistance to rice farmers based on 2022 planted and prevented planted acres. The Monticello fire department was dispatched to an 18 wheeler fire at 6:50 PM, Tuesday evening.
No injuries were reported as the driver was about to enter a local mill. The cab of the truck was fully engulfed, upon MFD‘s arrival.
DCSO and OEM also responded.
