Around 9 PM, Thursday night, another round of freight powered Entergy powerlines Inn Monticello work energized. This brought the total of disabled customers to under 2000, for the first time since Sunday evening.
Due to the storm damage, along with fallen trees and powerlines, Drew County trash routes will be made up on Friday & Saturday.
Monday’s trash route will pick-up FRIDAY.
Tuesday’s route will pick-up on SATURDAY.

County Judge Robert Akin
As local residents clear out storm damage and debris, the City of Monticello has announced that trees and limbs may be disposed of at the Transfer Station on Old Warren Road.
Judge Robert Akin has declared Drew County as a disaster area, due to the storms, and will be acccepting vegetative debris, starting Monday, at the Drew County Fairgrounds.
Both of these locations are for trees, limbs, bushes, and other naturally growing storm debris.
Building materials or structural debris cannot be accepted at either of them.

The vehicle under the trees occurred in Mason Hill area. The other two cars were traveling north on Highway 83, as the storm took place and hit/were hit by falling trees.

After Sunday night’s severe thunderstorms rolled through Drew County and much of Southeast Arkansas, over 5000 Entergy customers are still without electricity.
The National Weather Service has yet to confirm if these were straight line winds or possibly tornadic in nature.
Due to the number of damaged areas to the power grid, Entergy is unable to estimate probable restoration times at this point.
