Kim’s Dance Factory Presents Fall Theater Production, October 24th

Kim’s Dance Factory will present its Fall Theater Production “Just a Lil’ Hocus Pocus” at the City Park Amphitheatre on Saturday, October 24.
Show times will be 2:00, 6:00, and 7:30. Admission is FREE! Along with the performances directed by Maggie Barnett there will be a COVID friendly trunk or treat for the community!
We encourage kids to wear their costumes and come out to the park and enjoy a fun and safe activity and some fantastic entertainment!

Dr. Phil Tappe has announced he will retire from his post as the University of Arkansas at Monticello Dean of the College of Forestry, Agriculture, and Natural Resources and the Director of the U of A System Division of Agriculture’s Forest Resources Center. County Clerk Lyna Gulledge, Resigning effective December 31, Moving to North Arkansas – Video

Mrs. Gulledge has served 16 years as County Clerk, after working as a deputy clerk, in 2004.
She also told the Quorum Court JPs, Monday night, that two of her deputy clerks, who have been considering retirement, will also be leaving, at the end of the year.
Several of the JP ‘s, the County Judge, as well as the county attorney, expressed their appreciation to Mrs. Gullege, for her years of service.
A standing round of applause, concluded the emotional announcement.
425 Lane Blocked by Big Rig

Just before 8 AM, Tuesday morning, Monticello dispatch received reports that a log truck turning from a side road onto Highway 425, north of 5 Mile Hill, was stuck in the ditch, blocking one lane of traffic.
Drew County Deputies are currently on the scene.
Please use caution, when traveling through the area, and give yourself extra travel time.

Crystal Halley Named UAM Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

University of Arkansas at Monticello Chancellor Dr. Peggy Doss announced today that Crystal Halley has been named the UAM Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Halley graduated from UAM Summa Cum Laude in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She earned a Juris Doctorate from the William H. Bowen School of Law at UALR in 2007.
