Robert Gibson was sworn in as Circuit Judge, by his father, retiring Judge Bynum Gibson, Friday in Hamburg.
Crews Puryear was sworn in as Circuit Judge by retiring Judge Sam Pope, Friday in Arkansas City.
Laurie Bridewell was sworn in as Circuit Judge, Friday in Hamburg, by appointed Judge Sandra Bradshaw, who completed the term of Kenny Johnson, who died in office.
This photo, taken around 7:30, Thursday, on Highway 278 at Wilmar, shows one of multiple minor accidents that took place around that time, due to heavy rains.
It seems that rain caused more accidents on New Year’s Eve, than alcohol did, later in the night.
Our cat Dexter has been missing for almost two weeks now.
We would very much like to have him back if someone does have him as he is our oldest and most beloved cat.
He’s very friendly and loves to be cuddled.
Around 2:30 PM Tuesday, a call came in reporting a hit & run at 278/425, where a big rig had left the scene. Minutes later, a truck matching that description was found on the UAM campus, stopped in the roadway. Read the rest of this entry »
At Monday night’s quorum court meeting, Nancy White was appointed, to serve as the county clerk for the remaining two years of Lyna Gulledge’s term. Gulledge has resigned to move to north Arkansas.
White is an employee in the county treasurer’s office. More information about her is posted below, in another article.
Other applicants for the position included Beth Davis, Vickey Haycox, and John Gutierrez.
