Published by Joe Burgess May 11th, 2008 in Feature: OML.Steve & Kim Pigott have recently purchased Clearview Glass & Mirror, here in Monticello, and had a booth at Rough & Ready Days to publicize their business.
Steve & Kim have had an impact on Monticello for years, through the work that they have done, and it seems appropriate to select them as this weeks One Monticello Life.
Since today is Mother’s Day, we introduce Kim first. Kim was born in Baytown, TX, grew up and graduated high school in Magnolia. Kim earned her BA in Computer Science at SAU, and then completed her Masters in Education, with an emphasis in Agency Counseling, also at SAU.
Kim started Kim’s Dance Factory in the Fall of 1995, and they built their current facility behind Wal-Mart in 2001. Kim teaches tap, jazz, ballet, cheer-leading, gymnastics, and baton. Kim has taught hundred’s of students over the 13 years she has worked in the field of dance, here in Monticello.
Steve was born in Big Spring, TX, raised in Camden, and graduated from Fairview High School there. He earned his Associate Degree in Business from SAU, and then earned a BA in Industrial Engineering from UA Fayetteville.
While in Camden, Steve served in the National Guard for 6 years, and earned the rank of Seargent.
Steve is best known for the 10 1/2 years he spent at Burlington Industries, where he served as the project industrial engineer, cost dept. manager, quality control manager, plant manager, and eventually vice president of operations for the division. Since Burlington, Steve has held other positions in local industries, before purchasing Clearview.
Although Steve & Kim both were in Magnolia, they didn’t meet until early 1992, after Steve was at Burlington. They were married in May 1993, and will soon be celebrating their 15th anniversary.
Steve & Kim have 3 sons: Cody, age 12, a 6th grader at MMS; Clint, age 9, a 3rd grader at MIS; and, Cade, age 4, who attends pre-school at First Methodist Church. The boys are involved in sports, and enjoy hunting and fishing. The boys are involved in baseball and football, and Steve coaches baseball, has been on the baseball board for 4 years, and president of the league for 3 years.
Clearview Glass & Mirror, Steve & Kim’s new business, offers a full line of automotive, residential, and commercial glass. They install and repair residential and commercial glass, and cut custom sizes for glass and mirrors. Clearview can also service your needs for tub and shower enclosures, as well.
