Orlando considers the greatest part of his career as being able help people get into home ownership. He is pleased that he has been able to obtain a career, helping people, “especially in my home community”.
Orlando was born in Dumas, but moved to Monticello at young age of 5. He attended Monticello schools, and graduated from MHS. He began college at UAPB, and later graduated from Oral Roberts University, in Tulsa.
Orlando has 4 children. His oldest son, Michael, just graduated from Eastern Washington University this month. His other children all live in Monticello, and attend Monticello schools. His oldest daughter, Chelsea, is 15. Erin, his younger daughter turned 14 on June 16th, and was able to celebrate her birthday while attending Michael’s graduation in Washington. Orlando’s youngest son, Nathan, is 8.
Orlando serves as church administrator and minister of music at Revival Center Church of God in Christ.
His hobbies include fishing and most other sports, he just needs more time to enjoy them. Orlando had pets growing up, but doesn’t have any at this time.

Congrats Lanny! First of all I’m proud of you because you are my friend, but to see a young, black, CHRISTIAN man wanting to make a difference in Drew County brings joy to my heart. Even though we don’t live there anymore, Monticello is always home. I will pray that God gives you whatever it is that you need to get the job done and done right! With all of the “drama” going on around there, Monticello needs more caring people like yourself. Again CONGRATULATIONS!

Great article! Congratulations on the position! You have always talked about how much you care about your community and in our conversations, you have always talked about how you could help make it better. Not only that, you have had an interest in surrounding communities and have given me several opportunities to work on projects with different people. I love the fact that you don’t mind sharing information that can help someone else. No matter when I’ve called on you to help, you have always answered to help me resolve the issue.
