Mrs. Vivian Cotton, age 55, of Monticello, died July 10 in her home.
She was a member of Shady Grove AME Church
Survivors include one daughter, Angel Cotton and one son Fred Cotton, Jr,both of Monticello.
Four sisters; Shirley Butler, of Chicago; Willie Jones and Effie McGary, of Monticello’ and Donna Williams, of Monticello. Two brothers Glenn Milton Martin of Monticello; and Vernon L Martin. Of Monticello; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 1 PM, at Shady Grove AME Church, wth Christian Brothers Funeral Home officiating.
A wake will be held Friday, July 15, at Christian Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, from 6 – 7 pm.
Mrs. Annie B. Hopkins, age 95, deceased July 2, 2011, at The Woods, in Monticello.
She was a member of Pilgrims Rest AME Church.
She was a professional cook for Dr. Robert Hyatt, and she gave many years of service to Drew Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by Rev. Daniel Lee (Rose) of Dermott, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are to be held July 9. at 11 am, at Pilgrims Rest AME Church. Burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Memorial for Sue will be May 21, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Room in Monticello. All family members and friends are invited to celebrate Sue’s life with us.
Sue was born on October 2, 1954, in Monticello, Arkansas and passed away May 11, 2011 in Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father Van Doyle (Tootsie) Knowles and mother Margaret Catherine Causey Knowles.
Sue resided in Austin, Texas and was a realtor with Keller Williams Realty. She traveled extensively in Europe and Asia during company transfers of her husband, David Mellon.
Sue is survived by her husband, David Mellon of Austin, Texas, two sons William Mellon and his wife Jennifer of China, Andrew Mellon and his wife Bria and their son and Sue’s Grandson Everett of Austin, Texas. She is a survived by three sisters, Mary Cathryn Flemister of Monticello, Claudette Head of Dallas, Texas, Kay Gregory of Bullard, Texas and one brother, Earl B. (Buddy) Knowles of Monticello. Sue leaves behind many nephews, great nephews, great great nephews, nieces, great nieces, great great nieces and many loved friends. She was preceded in death by one nephew Jeremy C. Gregory.
The family has requested donations to the American Cancer Society Relay for life – personal page of David McCabe in lieu of flowers. The donations may be made online 2011 Marlboro/Hudson MA Relay for Life or to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society Research.
