Secretary of State Charlie Daniels has announced the fall statewide notary public seminar schedule.  The seminars are offered free-of-charge. Monticello seminar will be held on October 24 at 9 a.m.

The seminars, conducted by the Secretary of State’s Business and Commercial Services (BCS) division, have provided continuing education to around 3,000 notaries public in Arkansas since August 2005.  
 
The 90-minute course covers the application process, jurisdiction, and powers of a notary public.  It also includes information on administering oaths; electronic notarization; and taking acknowledgements, affidavits, and depositions.  Additionally, the course defines what documents notaries may and may not notarize and the requirements of the notary commission.
