Multi Agency Investigation Leads to 170+ Pills & $50,000 Bond

February 29th, 2012 by

According to Lt. Jason Akers, a multi agency investigation resulted in the arrest of a Cleveland County resident in Monticello last week.

According to Akers, Drew County Deputies, Monticello Police and Task Force Agents arrested John Michael Thompson, age 54, of New Edinburg, after an investigation conducted by the three agencies. Thompson was arrested after a traffic stop on his vehicle that resulted in Agents seizing approximately $1,000.00 in cash, over (170) dosage units of various narcotics, including Xanax, Hydrocodone, Soma and Lorcet Plus.

Thompson faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, schedule III, one count of possession with intent to deliver, schedule IV and one count of simple possession, schedule IV. Additional charges may be filed.

Thompson is currently incarcerated at the Drew County Detention Facility on a $50,000 bond.

WOW. That’s alot of dope. Got out cheap……WHY??

  2. loving mom says:

Did they take his cell phone, arrest anyone else, confiscate his vehicle? That would be the NEWS! Seems the only one’s being arrested here are the one’s who can be bailed out of jail… Take down the local dealers and the supplier’s will not come in!

  3. Shane Williams says:

They should do more to him. Like make him walk around his hometown wearing a sign saying, ‘This is what a drug dealer looks like.’ I’ll bet that would hurt more than anything else.

  4. blondie says:

Would like to know his AKA alias names he uses! They never use their real name as dealers…

  5. Cowabunga says:

If you need pills just go to the legal drug dealers… The doctors, since nobody seems to mind a doctor pushing countless pills on you.

  6. this is a shame dont they know if he was selling that amount of pills and s….. 50,000 still isnt enough bond for him. i bet hee could get out and i bet he will get off with little to no time. what a shame.

  7. leroy says:

funny how its always people out of town.clean up here then they wont come.there’s alot of them here but they wont fool with them for some reason even after you call them.

  8. wow!!!! says:

The guy that raped a girl four times only got a 20,000.00 dollar bond and he got a 50,000 dollar bond. That scares me. Neither need to be on the streets. Their bonds should’ve been alot more. Keep these people in jail.
