MPD Installs “Smart 911″ – UpdateOctober 26th, 2012 by Joe Burgess
Monticello Police Dept. has just installed the SMART 911 system here at our dispatch center. The web site is smart911.com. People can go to this site and sign up at no cost.
The info you put into this data base will show up in our local911 center, when you call for help.
MPD Chief Eddy Deaton told MLive, ” This system is extremely flexible. It can be updated as often as you need, such as recent surgeries or new medical conditions. The info will be relayed to the responding emergency personnel before they arrive on scene. The more information you provide about yourself and your family, the more helpful it can be. It includes medical info (that could be very helpful to responding EMS), structure info, and pets. You can put in medical info, types of medication, type of vehicle in the yard. The information will be used for emergency response only.”
