Update—-MonticelloLive Website Hacked-Back On Line
Published by Joe Burgess July 4th, 2008 in Site.MonticelloLive was taken off-line Thursday afternoon due to an attack by computer hackers.
Contrary to the error message, there were no billing issues, simply vandalism.
MonticelloLive will be updating you with Friday’s news including 6 arrests, and a patriotic photo, with the story behind it. It’s still today’s news….today. It’s just a little later today than usual.
———————————————————–
MonticelloLive.com has just completed it’s best 2 months ever, with 84,000+ pageviews in May, and 83,000+ in June. I guess that makes Monticello worthy of “hacking”, but I really didn’t need that ”honor” today. (I was at the dentist at 8:30, and the dog pound at noon.)
I really do want to thank everyone who called to see what had happened, making sure MonticelloLive would be back, and even some offering funds. It really shows that MonticelloLive has become a part of a growing number of Monticello Lives.
For that, I thank you. It shows that the original phrase, “Monticello’s Community Website” still sums it up pretty well.
