Several teachers and staff from the Monticello School System took part in a National Reading Symposium last Thursday and Friday.

The meeting was held in Little Rock, and featured the top of the line experts and authors in the reading education field from across the country, and provides the latest in educational techniques, as well.

“Fountas & Pinnel” who authored the reading program being used in the Monticello district were there to provide assistance and updates.

Also, Chris Tovani, one of the new authors in the field of educational literacy was present.

Monticello staff taking part included;

Karen Robinson, literacy coach, MIS & MMS,

Anita Skinner, MES 2nd grade teacher,

Julie Workman, literacy coach, grades 2 & 3, and

Patty Deal, literacy coach, grades K & 1.
