The Monticello Police Dept. will be watching for drunk drivers tonight by increasing patrols and other efforts.
They have been chosen as one of the few agencies in the area, to receive a federal overtime grant, in an effort to decrease drunken driving nationwide.
This is the forth year Monticello P.D. has received the grant
Use of the overtime that the grant provides enabled the department to increase patrols on December 21, 22, 28,and 29.
During those 4 days, the agency arrested 13 drivers and charged them with DWI.
